Man United Outplayed, Outclassed by Man City!!!

Some people are blaming Sir Alex Ferguson for his team selection and I am totally disagreeing with them. The team selection was okay and the players let Ferguson down. I will take player by player and see how they performed in a historic 6-1 win by Man City. It was United's heaviest derby loss for 85 years, their worst defeat since 1955 and ended their 37 game unbeaten home run in all competitions.

David de Gea
The young goal keeper was always exposed by his defence more especially in the second half after Jonny Evans got red card. But he should also shoulder some blame for not organizing his three man defence well, he failed to call Evra and Smalling back whenever they were upfront and this in turn left Rio as the only cover for him.
Chris Smalling
The young star fail to come to the party because his defence partners where no were to be found, he had some good interceptions. After Evans red card, he continue to go forward and this left Rio at the back with the useless Evra and they were overplayed by City attacking forces lead by Silva.
Rio Ferdinand
Rio fail to control his back four line, he was lost together with Evans, he was never seen shouting instructions to the team like he always do. He failed again to use his experience to make a very solid defence of three man after Evans was red carded.
Jonny Evans
I have no words to describe what the little man did, he has enough experience in the game and he should have by now known better that holding your opponent by jersey as the last man deserves a red card. He deliberately did it. I am one person who always back him up whenever Man United fans want him out of the first eleven, and from City game, I don’t think I will ever have that energy to convince people that Evans is a good player and he will improve as he grow. The guy still has a future in the team but it’s up to him to see to it that he stays longer at Man United.
Patrice Evra
Stand in captain and he was the worst performer of the day, one wonder if he forgot his experience at home. He looked clueless, his defending was terrible as his attacking, and nothing was good from Evra. In a three man the defence, he was supposed to defend than going forward.
Darren Fletcher & Anderson
They were supposed to play as cover up for defence especially after Evans got red card but they never did that job. Anderson in particular was running like a headless chicken in the midfield doing nothing. Fletcher scored a fantastic goal BUT he was also useless for the entire game. Both of them were not good either on their defensive duty or when going forward. They are the reason why Rio and Evans were exposed by Silva.
Ashley Young& Nani
They are among the best wingers in the BPL but on Sunday, they were among the worst. Nani was substituted without a shot at goal. Their cross delivery was poor; they simply lacked creativity during the day.
Wayne Rooney & Danny Welbeck
The two English men were just running up front but with little pressure on the City defence. Rooney lacked creativity when even he got the ball but he was sometimes seen at the back collecting some balls to start up attacks from the back. Welbeck was never near what made him a household name in Manchester United, his performance was below par.
Substitutions
Phil Jones
He was called upon to protect the defence playing in the midfield and fail the test. The young man was supposed to sit in front of the back three to cut all the attacking moves of City players. Maybe the assignment was too big for the little boy; Carrick should have done better here.
Chicharito
Always working hard, he forced a corner with his first touch of the game. Surely could have done better than Welbeck, if he could have started the game.
The RED DEVILS will bounce back!!!!
